John 4:13-14

giraffe drinking water

“Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”

John 4:13-14

After Thought

Christ shows that the water of Jacob’s well yielded a very short satisfaction. Of whatever waters of comfort we drink, we shall thirst again. But whoever partakes of the Spirit of grace, and the comforts of the gospel, shall never want that which will abundantly satisfy his soul.

Luke 2:11-12

dog in manger

“For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you; you will find a baby wrapped in clots and lying in a manger.”

Luke 2:11-12

A young, abandoned dog, looking for a comfortable, protected place to sleep, wandered into a nativity scene in a small Brazilian town. During the night, the town folk discovered the pup resting with the baby Jesus. Once again an animal gives us a reminder, during the Christmas season, to draw near to the one who truly comforts and protects.

After Thought

As the animals and they will tell you who the Savior and Prince of Peace is.

And in that day you will say, “Give thanks to the LORD, call on His name. Make known His deeds among the peoples; Make them remember that His name is exalted.”

Isaiah 12:4

After Thought

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
